Apply for government grants
The good news for first home buyers is homes purchased with a value of less than $430,000, do not pay stamp duty.

So if you snap up a house and land package under $430,000, as a first home buyer you won’t pay any duty.
This means more of your hard earned savings can go towards your home loan deposit!

Also, first home buyers are eligible for a $10,000 WA First Home Owner grant.

The much welcome State Government handout is paid to eligible first home buyers building or buying off-the-plan, or purchasing newly built homes, available for purchases of homes in Perth up to the value of $750,000.

Meet with an expert
Have a chat with a financial expert and find out what your borrowing capacity is and exactly how much of a deposit you’ll need. Find a loan that suits your budget and allows you to live within your means.

Take note of what is and isn’t included in the deal
Some packages include landscaping and fencing in the deal, which is a huge saving in helping you put the final touches on your dream home. Some builders also include bonus extras, such as air-conditioning, flooring, painting and appliances.  Some packages also offer a fixed site works price, which can be a huge saving when preparing your land for building. All those extras add up to huge savings!
