Guests are more than welcome

The Havana in Coogee by Switch Homes doesn’t let narrow lots prevent it from being a spacious four-bedroom with study, cinema and separate guesthouse.

The two-storey residence features 311sqm of internal living space and high ceilings which fill the home with light, making it feel bigger than the small block it sits on.

“Now more than ever before, people are building on narrow or smaller suburban lots but wanting maximum impact that utilises every bit of space for comfortable and practical living,” Switch Homes General Manager Simon Greenlaw said.

“We pride ourselves on offering affordable luxury with our one-off and bespoke designs.
The Havana was designed to suit smaller sites and to be an economical double-storey home with key lifestyle components on each level.”

A key feature of the layout, the 80sqm guesthouse is perfect as a teenager’s retreat, a home office or simply for visiting guests or grandparents.

The fully equipped building features a delightful open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, large bedroom with ensuite and even its own laundry.

The addition of a veranda that faces the main residence makes this building feel individual, but also allows for integration with the main home.

An entertainer’s dream, The Havana features a spacious open-plan living zone on the ground floor that opens onto a large alfresco area.

Take full advantage of a summer breeze by opening up the doors and letting the air flow through the living, dining and kitchen hub, bringing welcome relief on hot days.

“The kitchen is perfect for those who love to cook, with amazing subway feature tiles and a large separate scullery area for serious entertainers,” Mr Greenlaw said.

Integrated Smeg appliances will delight the home chef, including a 900mm freestanding oven and cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and overhead cupboards ensure plenty of storage.

A functional scullery off the kitchen leads through into the laundry with walk-in linen robe.

Along with a study on the ground floor, a computer nook features in the kitchen and is the perfect place for children to do their homework while mum or dad cook.

A home cinema near the front of the property and a powder room- ideal for great use- round out the floor’s offerings.

Upstairs is the sleeping quarters with three double-sized minor bedrooms, including one extra large room with walk in robe.

The main suite is extremely spacious right down to the roomy walk-in robe and ensuite with double vanities.
Stone benchtops and LED downlights feature throughout and a Samsung i-Zone ducted reverse-cycle air-conditioning system keeps the home comfortable all year around.

The Havana, which features an alarm system with CCTV, is open Saturdays and Sundays 1-5pm and Mondays and Wednesdays 2-5pm.
